Pondering.

Recently, I’ve slipped into 2 Timothy, after finishing the first. Paul’s words are really inspiring, I was reading them last night and smiled at them. How nice it must’ve been for Timothy to have someone who was reaching out and helping him, and letting him know that he was believed in.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God.” – 2 Timothy 1, 7;8.

Hmm, nice huh? Wouldn’t it be great if we all had someone encouraging us? That’s what it sounds like to me. Maybe Paul was also reprimanding, but, the feeling came across as him telling Timothy; “Don’t be afraid of what God has given you.”

Why are Christian’s so afraid of what God has given them? The gifts He has bestowed on us are far greater than we can even imagine. Honing our skills to serve God’s purpose. Isn’t that what we all want?

You know, I’ve gotten some confidence back. Ever since I was young, I’ve always played the part of confidence, of un-wounded little girl who just shrugs and smirks. But the truth is, I was always hurting. And its a shame that other people put their kids through that. Or watch other people go through that. It’s actually in my nature to stand up and defend people who are un-appreciated. I’m not sure why, I just do. I can’t stand seeing people injure each other.

That’s off topic, but it popped into my head.  Let me leave you with one last bit of advice, its alright to love what you do, even when other people doubt you, tell you no, it’s not their decision. It’s your, and its God’s. Don’t be afraid of what the world says, because they will all think you’re crazy until you can prove them wrong.

More than ever these days, we need people who aren’t afraid of their own beliefs. And won’t run and hide from the world’s harsh words. Be not afraid. God is with you. Forever and ever. And that is something the world can never, ever take away.
